Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is prominently featured in a new book about the courses designed by the legendary Pete Dye.

The Brickyard Crossing edition of "Pete Dye Golf Courses: Fifty Years of Visionary Design" by Joel Zuckerman features a cover photo of a golfer teeing off on the 18th hole at the course at IMS, with Little Eagle Creek bordering the rolling fairway and the landmark white barn behind the green.

Pages of the book offer descriptions and vivid color photos of the courses that Indianapolis resident Dye has designed during his illustrious career, including Brickyard Crossing. Also within the book are tributes to Dye's work by golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman, along with anecdotes from golf pros and clients and associates of the colorful Dye.

The hardcover, coffee table-style book is available for $50 at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Shop.

A golf course was added to IMS in 1929. Dye's redesign of the course debuted in 1993, including four holes located in the infield of the famed Speedway oval. Since then, Brickyard Crossing played host to a Champions Tour (then PGA Senior Tour) event from 1994-2000 and has received several honors, including a spot on Golf Digest's "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses" lists for 2003-04 and 2005-06.

Dye, a former successful amateur golfer in Indiana, was inducted Nov. 10 into the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla., for his design work on more than 120 courses. His first design was a nine-hole course in Greenwood, Ind., El Dorado, now known as Dye's Walk.
